Happy New Year from TIA President Grant Seiffert!

As the newly-appointed President of TIA, I wish you a Happy New Year from all your staff here at TIA as we begin 2007 together.

I feel honored to serve in this new position, as well as to succeed Matt Flanigan, who just retired after nearly 13 years leading TIA and 40 years in our industry. He has been a great mentor to me and a great benefactor to the association's members and programs.

TIA and our member companies have much to be thankful for - and we have a full plate of challenges facing us in 2007. Two recent highlights of our activities are the excellent decision reached by the boards of TIA and USTelecom to combine trade show efforts by jointly launching NXTcomm 2007, June 18-21 in Chicago, and the recent FCC vote on video franchise reform. The commission is encouraging competition, which will benefit TIA's members and stimulate future growth of the overall industry.

I am very appreciative of the responsibility our association's Board has entrusted to me. Likewise, our staff will do whatever is needed to help assure the success of NXTcomm 2007 so it becomes the leading marketplace for the communications, information and entertainment technology industry.

I'm looking forward to leading our staff efforts and welcome your support and active participation. To our TIA members, thank you especially for your membership and support, and best wishes for a healthy and prosperous new year.

Sincerely,
Grant Seiffert
TIA President
