NXTcomm Selects Wayne Crawford as Show's Executive Director

Industry Veteran Brings Experience and Vision to New Event

NXTcomm announces Wayne Crawford, a seasoned and well-respected show management executive and key to some of the most successful trade shows, has been named executive director for NXTcomm. The only event where the business and technology of communications, information and entertainment meet, NXTcomm, co-owned by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the United States Telecom Association (USTelecom), will be held June 18-21, 2007, in Chicago. "Wayne's experience building some of the country's largest events will be a tremendous asset in his new role leading NXTcomm," said Skip Frantz, Chairman of Windstream Corporation and Chairman of USTelecom's Board of Directors.

Prior to joining NXTcomm, Crawford played an integral role in two of the country's largest shows — NAB Las Vegas (the National Association of Broadcasters electronic media show) and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). At NAB, he led exhibit sales efforts and new business development, including initiatives for next-generation content delivery technologies. For the CES, he developed strategies and worked with internal sales, marketing, public relations, operations, registration and finance divisions to produce the event. In addition, Crawford has held leadership roles with several well-respected event management and registration companies. The NXTcomm executive director search was conducted by Heidrick and Struggles, an executive search firm.

"Selecting Wayne Crawford to lead our NXTcomm launch underscores the commitment of TIA and USTelecom to create the premier event for the information, communications and entertainment technology industry," noted Rob Pullen, Tellabs Senior Vice President, Global Services, and Chairman of TIA's Board of Directors.

NXTcomm will bring together top executives from every segment of the global industry to exhibit, explore new business opportunities and buy the latest technologies driving the converged communications and entertainment industry. Showcasing hundreds of new and innovative products, the NXTcomm exhibit floor will reflect the dramatic changes in the sector. The show's programming will feature keynotes from the top CEOs in the communications, entertainment and technology sectors.

"With technology evolving quickly and creating new business opportunities at every turn, this is an exciting time for the communications and entertainment sectors. NXTcomm will be the place for industry insiders to meet, discuss and see what's next for communications, information and entertainment, and I look forward to leading this dynamic new event," Crawford said.

NXTcomm will be held in Chicago's McCormick Place, June 18-21, 2007. For more information, go to http://www.nxtcommshow.com.
