NXTcomm Hires Jim Forlenza and Bill Herman

NXTcomm, the new industry venue co-owned by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the United States Telecom Association (USTelecom), has expanded its staff by adding Jim Forlenza as Director, Public Relations and Business Development, and Bill Herman as Director, Administration and Operations. NXTcomm will debut June 18-21 at Chicago 's McCormick Place.

"Jim Forlenza and Bill Herman bring a wealth of experience in and knowledge of tradeshow operations and communications," NXTcomm Executive Director Wayne Crawford said. "Their management expertise will go a long way toward helping NXTcomm staff create the only event where the business and technology of communications, information and entertainment meet."

Forlenza has more than 20 years of exhibition industry experience, having worked in both the association and for-profit industries. In addition to producing events in more than 20 different countries, he has been recognized among his peers in the industry for his numerous years of service to both the Society of Independent Show Organizers and the International Association of Exposition Managers. He was one of the first individuals to help establish tradeshow management offices and produce events throughout Latin America on a full-time basis. Forlenza also has a strong record of event growth within the industry, having created numerous new launches and successfully negotiated several industry acquisitions and joint ventures.

Herman also possesses more than 20 years of tradeshow experience, having produced several Tradeshow 200 consumer and trade events, as well as events in 15 countries, including pioneering ventures in Cuba and Libya. Well-versed in operations, Herman has worked to establish industry standards in countries new to the event management industry. His expertise includes efforts for both large multinational organizers and smaller domestic firms. He recently started and operated his own company, which for several years focused on niche markets within the U.S.
