Key Communications Bills Pass House
TIA applauded the passage of two key bills in Congress just before Thanksgiving recess that if enacted will augment the U.S. communications infrastructure. These bills will improve the emergency 911 access by IP-based voice services safer, and will also direct the collection of data nationwide regarding the types and extent of broadband access, complimenting industry efforts to see broadband deployed universally across the country.

TIA Addresses China Concerns in Letter to Padilla
TIA penned a letter to Acting Undersecretary of Commerce for the International Trade Administration Chris Padilla, thanking him for his ongoing work on bilateral commercial matters with China and addressing member concerns about the Chinese mobile market.

TR-41, 3GPP2/TR-45 Meeting Update
TIA's TR-41 User Premises Telecommunications Requirements Engineering Committee met last week in Albuquerque, N.M., to discuss issues of importance to the various subcommittees as well as to hold subcommittee elections. This week 3GPP2 and the TR-45 Mobile and Personal Communications Systems Standards Committee's various subcommittees wrapped up a meeting in Osaka, Japan, that began last week. More >>
