TIA welcomes one of its newest members, Home Phone Tunes!

Home Phone Tunes is the first company to provide the Ringboxx, the first product to give people a simple and entertaining way to personalize home phones with music and exclusive audio content. Home Phone Tunes is the developer and marketer of the Ringboxx (featured in New Product Spotlight), a product that personalizes home phones with music and audio content. A compact device, the Ringboxx connects to the home phone and uses the PC to download high quality MP3 ringtones. Ringtones may be purchased and updated as desired to identify callers or to personalize the phone. The company is headquartered in Portland, Ore., and was founded in 2005.

Kirk Cameron, CEO of Home Phone Tunes, has an extensive background in telecommunications system sales and support, along with success as an entrepreneur in interactive telecommunications services. As national account sales manager for US West, he sold voice and data systems to customers throughout Oregon, Washington and California. Hse founded EEI Solutions in 1990 as a telecom Application Service Provider (ASP) with services including interactive voice response (IVR), along with carrier billing and reporting. Prosodie Interactive acquired EEI Solutions in 2000; there, Kirk served as president of the Western Region, acquiring three other companies over 18 months. He worked as an independent telecommunications consultant from 2002 to 2004 and founded Home Phone Tunes in 2005. He has a Business Management degree from the University of Oregon.

Tell us more about Ringboxx and how it works. 

The Ringboxx brings fun and distinctive ringtones to landline telephones. Ringboxx is a great way for people to identify callers instantly, even when they are not near their phones. Patent pending technology enables the Caller ID function to communicate with the Ringboxx and produce an original ringtone selected by users. Set the Ringboxx to All Play and for consumers without Caller ID, the device will play sequentially through all your Ringtones.

Just as ringtones are now a popular way to personalize mobile phones, the Ringboxx can transform a standard home phone by reflecting its owner’s personality. The Ringboxx is easy to install and fun to use. Ringtones are available from the Home Phone Tunes’ online Ringtone Store.

Key Features

• Ringboxx is the first device to combine Caller-ID functionality with entertaining content options for traditional landline phone users.
• Callers are identified by distinctive ringtones, not through the caller ID screen. 
• In the standard setup, approximately 10 ringtones can be assigned to different phone numbers. Any incoming caller can be assigned his or her own Ringtone instead of the standard ring.
• An “All Play” feature assigns a tone to users who don’t have Caller ID, or can be used for those users who don’t want to assign ringtones to specific telephone numbers.
• To play the ringtones on Ringboxx simply plug it into an AC outlet and use the arrow button on the front of the box to play the ringtones. Continue pressing the arrow to advance to the next ringtone. The + and – signs will adjust the volume.  It is not necessary to connect the Ringboxx into the phone or phone jack to play ringtones.
• Multiple Ringboxxes can be installed and customized in a single household, using one or multiple phone lines.
• Purchase original ringtones created just for the landline from content partners including Universal Music and Orchard Music.
• Set Ringboxx to “silence” for 1-800 toll numbers and avoid being bothered by telemarketers.

The number one comment we hear about the Ringboxx is, “this is fun.” And that’s exactly what the Ringboxx is about, entertainment for your home phone. Finally, the chance to personalize and customize your home phone just like your cell phone. Additionally, we have had feedback from a number of people who use the Ringboxx as a safety device. One woman bought the Ringboxx for her blind daughter. They use it like an audio caller-id. For the first time this young woman can answer the phone confidently knowing who is calling. We have also had adult children with aging parents buy it for the same reason – audio caller ID. Additionally, they silence the 800 numbers to protect their parents from the telemarketers.
