TIA to Host Next Meeting of US TAG to ISO/TC204

The U.S. Technical Advisory Group (US TAG) to  the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 204 for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) ISO/TC204 will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, September 19 at TIA headquarters in Arlington, VA.  Coming on the heels of the approaching International Plenary meeting of ISO/TC204 in Qingdao, China from October 15-19, the meeting will serve as an opportunity to shore-up the U.S. position on a number of ITS-related standards.

As both the International Secretariat to ISO/TC204, as well as US TAG Administrator to ISO/TC204, TIA plays a central role in helping shape standardization in this emerging and dynamic field.  If you would like to participate in the technical work of either committee, or wish to receive additional information on the work of ISO/TC204 or the US TAG, please contact Tyler Messa at: tmessa@tiaonline.org or 703.907.7743

Busy Week after TR-45 Meeting

TIA standards staff has worked this week to clear the backlog of standards- and engineering-committee-related documents after last week's joint meeting of its TR-45 Mobile and Personal Communications Systems Standards committee.  The high volume of documents awaiting legal review and then potential publication by IHS stems from the resolution of several key topics and extensive conversation on Electronic Serial Number exhaust issues.

Preparations are already underway for the next TR-45 meetings in Long Beach, Cal., this October.

For questions or comments about TR-45 issues, please contact Peter Bogard at 703.907.7961 or pbogard@tiaonline.org.
