Please tell us the value you gain from your TIA Membership.
4DK Technologies Inc. has developed the SuperConnectivity™ product suite, which fosters seamless interoperability between networks, devices and applications. We could not have reached this level of innovative development without applying the same principles of interoperability and openness to the way we work – having access to the networking opportunities and the information TIA offers has been beneficial to us for this reason. Our team has a wealth of experience in the telecommunications industry and a thorough understanding of the issues that underpin the lack of interoperability present in the industry today. TIA's forward-thinking approach supports our ethos of driving innovation from the point of view of the end user – be they the general public or our first responders..
How is 4DK Technologies addressing current trends in the industry?
We refuse to follow the industry trend of taking a siloed approach to problem solving. Our approach is holistic – we address the entire ecosystem and provide full support services for our customers.
The current economic environment is creating a mood of cautious optimism among our customers. To help them, we are promoting hosting as a way for carriers to save/defer costs. We will also provide our handset software in an Apache-like open source code license. And we do not intend to subsidize this with ad revenue.
Tell us about your recent launch of the SuperConnectivity™ product suite.
We recently launched our SuperConnectivity™ product suite: “SCout,” the service platform, and “SCamp,” the device engine. We have received an overwhelmingly positive response from the developers, the handset manufacturers and the vendors that have seen our product demonstrations. One of the most resounding responses we received was relief that 4DK has created a product that will finally support everyone in the wireless ecosystem and not demand that they conform to yet more standards. What sparked yet more interest was SuperConnectivity’s capacity to introduce contextual information into the environment that will allow services to be adapted based on the device user’s real-time context.
We set out to let the marketplace know that 4DK is not purely a consulting company, but is bringing viable, exciting products into play, and we definitely achieved this. We set out to create a unique identity through a maverick brand to reflect the innovative spirit within our team, and we did this. We also wanted to validate our product vision with the industry that we serve, and we definitely did this. In short, we accomplished everything we set out to do and more. Now we are focused on delivering our products and delighting our customers.
Our industry is facing a defining moment. The 700MHz auctions insure that a new level of technology advancements and new ways of doing business will finally unfold in the US and we are extremely well positioned to support this.
What publications do you follow to stay in the know?
As the CEO and a founder, I need to be aware of and understand how a number of issues may affect 4DK and the wireless industry, including technology developments, legislation, funding opportunities and many, many topics. In addition to building a team of highly talented professionals who also stay abreast of these topics and help to keep me informed, I read the Wall Street Journal, RCR Wireless, IEEE publicationss and TIA news bulletins.
