NXTcomm and Telephony, the leading publication for communications service providers, and NXTcomm will collaborate to produce Telephony's “INSIGHTS for Next-Generation ILECs,” a one-day educational conference at NXTcomm 2008, June 16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Limited seats will be offered as well for an executive luncheon on business valuation, a chief concern for rural telecom service providers.
Spearheaded by Telephony's award-winning editorial team, “INSIGHTS for Next-Generation ILECs” is the first event created uniquely for the independent audience – delivering intelligence from innovative independent service providers themselves, industry analysts and technology vendors. Through informative keynotes, interactive panel discussion sessions and live demonstrations, INSIGHTS will dissect the key issues facing service providers in the tier 2 and tier 3 markets. The conference will feature discussions on Carrier Ethernet, Video Services, Service Personalization and Wireless/ Access Technologies.
"Independent telcos face challenges that are unique to their markets, in addition to the competition and line-loss issues that all telephone companies face," said Carol Wilson, Telephony Editor-in-Chief. "INSIGHTS will address the common challenges from the Independent perspective and offer practical solutions specifically designed for this market."
Telephony Publisher Mark Hickey added, "NXTcomm is an excellent industry platform, and we are excited to be partnering with them on this event. Independent service providers finally have a venue to come together to learn and collaborate on deploying technologies, applications and services that will truly reshape their businesses."
"An event geared toward the needs of independent service providers is a great way to usher in NXTcomm08," NXTcomm Executive Director Wayne Crawford said. "Telephony's involvement represents an expansion of the strong relationship the two organizations began last year with Telephony's role as Official Publisher of the NXTcomm Show Daily and Program Guide at the debut of NXTcomm and continues this year in that role."
About NXTcomm: NXTcomm has replaced SUPERCOMM.The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the U.S. Telecom Association (USTelecom), the two organizations that owned and produced SUPERCOMM for 18 years, have joined forces again to produce NXTcomm, which replaces SUPERCOMM as the one event delivering the entire ecosystem of network-enabled voice, video, and data.
