SUPERCOMM INDIA 2004 Sets Records in New Delhi
Next Year's Fourth Annual Show Scheduled for Feb. 2-4

The third annual SUPERCOMM INDIA went into the record books February 4-6, with nearly 15,000 visitors attending and 137 companies participating as exhibitors, sponsors and speakers. The exhibition and conference growth parallel the immense opportunities and positive changes in India itself.
The three-day exhibition featured companies from 15 countries displaying on a nearly sold-out trade show floor. Both Canada and Korea produced impressive national pavilions, with a total of 24 companies participating. First-time exhibitors included Tata Group and LG, with very large stands, as well as returning companies such as Motorola, Tekelec and Tellabs, each with larger booths than the prior year.
The two-track conference attracted 325 delegates, speakers from 11 countries, and crowded sessions in larger rooms than last year... generally drawing 60-75 people in each concurrent program, which featured three to five panelists.
Big-name sponsors included BSNL, Reliance Infocomm, Tata, LG, Canada, VocalTec, Lucent, Cisco and Microsoft. In addition, there was particularly strong support from host government India, the U.S. government's Department of State and Department of Commerce, and the Canadian government, which served as supporting country and hosted a gala reception/dinner.
The inaugural ceremony/opening plenary featured addresses by many luminaries from India, Canada and the United States: Lucie Edwards, high commissioner of Canada to India; Ambassador David Gross, U.S. State Department; Michael Gallagher, assistant secretary, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, U.S. Commerce Department; Jan Skora, director general, Radiocommunication and Broadcasting Regulatory Branch, Industry Canada; V.P.
